On July 12, Group General Manager Liu Lei and his delegate visited Lanshan, Rizhao to inspect the operations of the log import business within the International Trade Division. Manager Wang Long of the International Trade Division accompanied the visit.
The General Manager first visited the Lanshan Port operation site, where he conducted an on-site inspection of the unloading operations of the Xinfeng Vessel, which was carrying over 40,000 cubic meters of high-quality logs. These logs were supplied by our strategic partner, Pacific Financial Derivatives (PFD), the largest log supplier in New Zealand and Australia. The logs originated from the Gisborne Port in New Zealand, known for its high-quality timber. Since beginning the log import business in 2013, our company has developed into a top-tier purchaser of logs from New Zealand and Canada, maintaining one of the top five import scales nationwide. This batch of logs will be widely used in areas such as construction timber, furniture manufacturing, decorative panels, floor trim, renovation of historical buildings, instrument making, and export lumber.
During the inspection, the General Manager was briefed on the unloading procedures and inspected the storage area. Facing significant market pressures on bulk commodities, including logs, in the first half of the year, the company is currently experiencing a traditional profit rebound period. After reviewing the business report, the General Manager emphasized the need for the team to seize market opportunities, enhance refined management while controlling risks, and explore new avenues for profit growth. He also urged the team to embody the Group's spirit of "hard work and perseverance" and to fully implement the strategic requirements for investment management.
The General Manager made his last stop at the Lanshan Branch office, where he warmly greeted colleagues involved in the log operations at all levels, provided guidance on operational details, and emphasized that the Group would continue to monitor the development of the log business. He also outlined plans to lead a team for on-site inspections of the upstream supply chains abroad, aiming to further strengthen international cooperation.
